Greg Melidonian
EVP, Managing Director of Commercial Deposits & Payments
Greg Melidonian serves as the EVP, Managing Director of Commercial Deposits & Payments at Sunwest Bank. Mr. Melidonian joined Sunwest Bank in 2024, spearheading the expansion initiatives in strategic markets. In his role, he oversees online banking, treasury operations, and services with an emphasis on expanding the bank’s strategic reach. With over 20 years of experience, Melidonian brings expertise in building and driving sales strategies to acquire new business, playing a pivotal role in driving growth and success at the bank.
Before joining Sunwest Bank, Mr. Melidonian was the Managing Director of Corporate Payments and Treasury Solutions at MUFG Union Bank. He oversaw four business market segments – Real Estate, Business Banking, Wealth Markets, and Reorganization. In that role, he led a sales organization of 40 individuals, where he was responsible for acquiring new business and cross-selling existing portfolios, resulting in $3.5 billion in deposits and $10 million in annual fee revenue. Prior to that role, he was an industry manager, managing Commercial Banking in both Southern California and Northern California markets, as well as large corporate verticals such as oil & gas and aerospace/defense.
Melidonian began his career at Wells Fargo within the bank’s large corporate vertical, specializing in hospitality, gaming, consumer goods, and technology.
Mr. Melidonian holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. He also is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington Foster School of Business.
